Personal Development information arrives via mobile apps!

Over the years I’ve had the good fortune to hear many top motivational speakers and trainers – Og Mandino, Tony Robbins, Stephen Covey and Zig Ziglar among many others.  I always come away from these experiences vowing to set my goals, plan and prioritize my projects each day and I promise myself that this time I’m not going to get sidetracked!

I usually do pretty well for the first week or so.  But then, somehow, life gets in the way and I find myself slipping back into my old ways. You know … skipping the gym because I didn’t get a good night’s sleep … reading and responding to emails from friends and family … checking Facebook … and at the end of the day I find that I haven’t accomplished the one or two key things that need to be done to move the business forward. Sound familiar?!

You see, I don’t have a “job” where I have to show up at an office at 9 and leave at 5.  We have a home-based business so the only people I have to answer to are my husband and myself!  And, believe, me there are many distractions at home – laundry to be done, meals to be cooked, etc.  The one rule I live by every day is that I show up at my desk showered and dressed for work … no phone calls in pajamas, like I hear so many home based business people boasting about!  I believe in dressing for success … particularly in this day of video conferencing!

The best way I’ve found to keep on track with my personal development goals is to subscribe to several motivational and training newsletters.  This way I can be re-motivated every time I read one!  My intention is to read – or reread – one every morning before I start on my task list.
